That looks great and is something I've been thinking about doing. What type of wood are the sleepers? And what size are they? They look larger than rail road ties.
Did you put any sand or gravel under the sleepers?

Ed. Thanks Brooks, the sleepers are CCA treated H3 pine: 100mm (`4") x 250mm (`9"). I put crusher dust under them and packed it down first. Laying the sleepers down flat created a great foundation that shouldn't rot too soon. It was important to get a ground level deck drained to help this so I spent a bit of time making sure of the levels. It's holding up a portable spa plus a couple of adults in it and hasn't sunk or moved. Have a look at it finished on www.kithomebasics.com/spa-review.html
